Financial Support

If you are a graduate, you are eligible for a Graduate Teaching Assistantship or Associateship, or GTA.

  • You are still required to pay mandatory fees, but will receive:
    • Full or partial tuition remission
    • Stipend
    • Student health insurance 
  • The GTA is offered 10 or 20 hours per week (0.25 FTE or 0.50 FTE) 
  • The assistantship or associateship begins week before regular semester classes

Visit Carson Scholars Program

  • Who: University of Arizona graduate students committed to interdisciplinary research on environment and society (visit website for full eligibility criteria)
  • What:
    • One year, $5,000 scholarships
    • Intensive weekend science communication retreat at Biosphere 2
    • Assigned faculty mentors who help provide hands-on training and other resources to develop science communication skills
    • Program project: video, exhibit, public presentation, website, blog or other communication project
  • How: Apply at the Carson Scholars Program website

 

Visit CLIMAS
