You can choose to focus on one of four emphasis areas: the biosphere; leadership, sustainability and communication; soil, air and water; physical and chemical dynamics.

Sustainable Plant Systems

The sustainable plant systems major is an interdisciplinary degree between the Department of Environmental Science, School of Plant Sciences and Biosystems Engineering that focuses on advancing the science of modern agriculture and crop science. You can choose to focus on one of four emphasis areas: agronomy, controlled environmental agriculture, urban horticulture or fresh produce safety.

Accelerated Masters

Well-qualified students can earn both their bachelor's in environmental science and master of science in soil, water and environmental Science through our accelerated master's program (AMP) in just five years. Interested students should be involved with research by their junior year or as soon as possible.
