UA Researchers Find Life in an Unimaginable Place

A UA team, including microbiologist Raina Maier, is in the process of discovering microbial life beneath the surface of Chile's Atacama desert; the same desert that is so barren that NASA uses it as a model for Mars. This desert gets rain about once every decade, so it was a massive surprise when this team found the living bacteria below the exterior of this desert.
